Fannie’s trying another color…
What a daring dog! My Pomeranian, Fannie, looks fabulous in color. She was purple for Easter, and she got a trim and a sizzling new splash of red for this killer heat! It turned out to look like some intense shade of hot pink on her yellowish fur, but I think she looks adorable.
We just put the dye on the end-half of her tail, her four little feet, and her ears (including her lengthy, naturally crimped fly-aways!). She was meant to look foxy, but she looks cute in any case, for sure!
If you would like for your pup to have something fun in their summer hair-do, Kelly is the lady to call! She would love to hear from you today! (913) 709-1799! Set up an appointment now! (Don’t forget, summer is a booming time for any groomer and you may not be able to get in right away. Call soon!)

Ton-ton goes home!
So I am a little behind! Ton-ton the Pom found a great home recently! Her new parents were both getting something special for themselves. Dad got a new iPhone, and Mom got a puppy! I certainly know who I think got the better deal! That puppy will be years and years of renewable joy. No upgrades needed for puppies. ;) What a lucky lady!
Ton-ton’s brother, Chancho, is still here at the store looking for his forever home! Come by and see him today, and don’t forget to check out the Available Puppies page for pictures and info on ALL of our babies!

Cockatiels, too!
Don’t forget about these great pets! Cockatiels have made wonderful pets for bird keepers for years and years. In fact, the owner of this store, Tim, got his start in the pet business by breeding Cockatiels as a boy! We have our very own breeding pair of ‘tiels, happily squawking and whistling away in the back (amongst other things…) and we currently have three of their babies, of three different ages, for sale!
Pete is the youngest, hatched on Easter of this year. He is a beautiful pied baby and has a really silly personality. He was hand-fed as a baby and is quite tame, although he does tend to like to do his own thing. :) Pete seems to be quite a dainty Cockatiel and is smaller than his siblings, but it could just be that I am used to holding his big brother…
Update! Petey is now Maggie. Sorry for not noticing sooner!
Here is Pete’s older brother, a standard gray male Cockatiel. (I call Pete a “he”, but I am not sure about him yet!) This cockatiel was not hand-fed, but he is hand-tamed and will allow himself to be held and petted. However, he is not keen on coming out of his cage all the time! Sometimes it takes some convincing to get him to come out and visit, but he is very well-mannered outside of his cage and doesn’t do any chomping. :)
The middle child (who I do not have any photos of), is a standard gray female ‘tiel. She was totally parent-raised and has not been handled much. She will take the most amount of interaction to tame, but she is a sweet bird and is very responsive when you talk to her and whistle. She acts like she wants to learn the songs, too! I think she will be a very good pet.
Come by and see these fun birds today!

Quakers are ready to go!
These hand-fed babies are ready to go!
Quaker Parrots, or Monk Parakeets, are a small-medium sized bird, a little larger than a Cockatiel. These babies have been hand-fed and are hand-tame and very friendly. Quakers are quite good talkers and have fantastic mimicking ability, making them popular birds!
Come see our two babies today!!

New! Let’s try it out!
Hey! I have just created a City Pets discussion board over at Google Groups!
Membership is free, and posting questions and discussions is easy! Feel free to ask any questions about the store, or questions about pets in general. I will check the board daily to make sure every question gets an answer. :) I am pretty excited about it. I hope I see you there!

Puppies Visit!
Yep! It’s time for some City Pups to stop by and say Hey!
First is Meagan, the beautiful gold Shih-tzu! Here she is on the day her Momma first took her home…
And here she is today! She is six months old and was just spayed a couple of weeks ago. Her Mom says she is spoiled and precious as she can be, and she recently figured out how to jump up on the bed! They found her snuggling under the covers just this morning. :) Adorable!
Oh man, I love that cute silly girl! ^_^
And here is a more recent pup we’ve sent home. This little guy is Blitzen (the second Sheltie-named-Blitzen that we have known)! He came by today and he was still super tiny, although his owner tells us he has doubled in size! Hard to believe! Plus, he seems to have a fabulous temperament and was very friendly to all of the people and dogs in the store! :) Great pup!
I am so happy to see any of my puppies from the past come walking through the store! We are so proud of our pups and we want them to be healthy and happy forever. We hope that you all feel the same way about your beloved pets, so feel free to give them a big hug and a smooch whenever you feel like it. :D
See you soon!

Here’s our Easter Baby!
This is little Peter Rabbit, hatched on Easter Sunday. He is almost ready to come out and see the world, and we already have lots of interest in him! Hand-fed baby birds are a hot commodity, as they are extemely tame, gentle, and friendly towards people. After all, they have been “adopted” by humans from a very young age! Petey is no different and he is going to make a wonderful pet bird for some lucky someone!
Here are some snapshots I took tonight…
Peter is a pied Cockatiel, so he is grey with irregular yellow blotches. We are not entirely sure that Pete is a male Cockatiel, but both male and female Cockatiels make wonderful pets, so it doesn’t matter much at all!
We can’t wait until Peter is ready to show off, so keep checking back here and at the store!
If you are very interested in Peter Rabbit, or any other hand-fed baby Cockatiel, give us a call at (816) 561-7387. Pete will be ready to go soon, and I’m sure he’ll go fast, but we have Peter’s parents who are quite willing and industrious, so it will never be a long time before we have more sweet, tame babies. (And don’t forget we have the two baby Quaker Parrots seen in the background of the second shot of Peter. Just as sweet, and with better mimicking ability!)
Hope we hear from you soon!

Baby Bird Central!
Oh boy! We have some cute little babies here in the store. We currently have two baby Quaker Parrots, and a beautiful pied baby Cockatiel. They are currently being hand-fed and are EXTREMELY tame babies. They are almost ready to bring out and show to the world!
Here are a couple snapshots of the little Quakers. They are so adorable when they are begging for food. The wiggle their wings and bob their head and make the silliest little giggling sounds! It is so precious!
So cute! Check back here and at the store for more baby news!

Grooming’s going great!
We are all so happy with our grooming salon and our fantastic groomer, Kelly. Here are a couple of her most recent make-overs!
Edward the miniature Schnauzer puppy came in for a hairdo; one of his very first! He was a great little pup and his Schnauzer cut made him look like a little show dog! What a handsome guy! Here is Edward before…
Now look at him after!
Here is a pretty little silver Miniature Poodle named Gucci! As you can see, Gucci was a little overgrown and floppy-moppy! His owners wanted Gucci to have a cool new ‘do for the summer, and someting a little tough, since he was a real man. :D
Check out Gucci, all re-done! He got a nice short cut, with a manly moustache and mohawk!
He looks great! I love that little guy!
If your pup needs a make-over, feel free to call today to set up your appointment with Kelly! (913) 709-1799!
