City Pets and Ponds

Here at City Pets and Ponds, we are very proud of our puppies. All of our puppies come from reputable local breeders and have been vet-checked at least twice before we receive them. We do not deal with unscrupulous breeders, “puppy mills,” or puppy brokers. Most of our puppies come to us with purebred registry papers and many of our pups are already micro-chipped for identification!

All City Pets puppies are given the best care while they are with us. Puppies are fed Nutro Natural Choice Small Bites for puppies twice a day (special diets for puppies are certainly accommodated!). Their kennels are disinfected twice daily and cleaned as-needed throughout the day. Water is delivered in water bottles with licker tubes so that no puppy can spill or contaminate their drinking water. We have a playpen in the store and all puppies take turns exercising and socializing all day long! To encourage proper socialization, puppies take turns being with other puppies and by themselves. They all receive individual attention and affection, as well as standard grooming procedures like baths, toenail trims, and ear-cleanings. All puppies are vaccinated on a routine basis and visit the vet whenever appropriate. Fully vaccinated puppies are taken on walks in the park when the weather is nice. :)

We send them home with a great care package, too! All of our puppies are up-to-date on their puppy shot series and receive a free vet check up from Kansas City Vet Care. All puppies also come with a limited 10-year health warranty, a free 5-lb bag of puppy food, and a discount on puppy supplies (ask about Kennel Kits)!

Aww man! Shih-tzus are so great. :) I love these little guys. Kirk is a puppy from the store owners’ own brother! He has some quality parents that produce some quality pups and we love to have them in the store. Kirk is APRI registered, up-to-date on shots and wormings and cuter than you could ask him to be! He weighs 6 and one quarter pounds. He is a feisty little man and no puppy to be trifled with! He is bold and brave! I think it is just a front, though, because when sitting in a lap is an option, Kirk will participate 100%! He is snuggly when the situation calls for it. :)

Oh! What a sweet lady! This little angel is our newest arrival and I am so excited to get to know her! This tiny little lady weighs just 3 and a half pounds! She was born June 1st and is micro-chipped and UABR registered. She is up-to-date on all of her shots and wormings. She is very sweet and friendly, although still a little shy! Her little tail couldn’t possibly wag any faster and she is a great kisser. :) I am excited to get to know this girl. I can tell she is going to be a great little dog! She will make the perfect companion for a gentle child or an older person who is looking for a loving life-long companion. Poodles are so intelligent and versatile, they are always a great choice!

Georgie Porgie is just ridiculous. He is an orange sable Pom with the cutest, silliest darn face you’ve ever seen. He weighs 3 and one quarter pounds, is AKC registered, micro-chipped and up-to-date on shots and wormings. Georgie was born June 29th. George is very sweet and eager to share his affections. He loves to play with the other puppies, but his heart is really with the people who come to visit him. You should come see him today!

Wow! What sweet little pansy faces! I think these are among the prettiest little dogs I have ever seen! You’ve got to see these darlings!

Tri-color girl was born July 1st. She is APRI registered and up-to-date on all shots and wormings. Frannie is a tiny girl and weighs just 2 and one quarter pounds. She is very friendly and happy! Fran is a playful girl and very feisty and rambunctious for her size. She is still a dainty lady, though and needs to be treated with care! Come see this little princess today!

The lemon and white girl was born June 28th. She is AKC registered and up-to-date on all shots and wormings. She weighs 3 and a half pounds. She is a sweet girl and seems shy and precious. :) She has an adorable face with liver-colored features, and it seems like her tongue is always sticking out just a little bit. I’ve never seen a puppy be so precious! (Besides my own, of course!)

Charlie the Puggle is 5 and one quarter pounds, ICA registered, and up-to-date on all shots and wormings. This boy is SO roly poly and sweet! I just want to give him big, squishy hugs! I can’t wait to get pictures of this cutie! Charlie seems to be VERY smart and attentive. He has a great voice, too! Charlie is the package deal: Smart, playful, rugged, and adorable. Puggle pups are pretty darn near the top of my list for best puppies ever. :)

Are you looking for a certain breed? A certain color? Boy or girl? At City Pets we have many connections with local dog breeders. All of our puppies come from individual breeders in the area, no puppy mills and no brokered dogs, EVER. Although there are probably a few breeds out there that we can’t find, please let us know if you have your heart set on a particular kind. We have great sources for great puppies and we would be happy to assist you in finding a puppy! Give a good home to a Rescued Dog or Cat!

If you are an experienced dog owner and do not need the predictability of size, temperament, and personality that you can get from a purebred puppy, please consider adopting a homeless pet from a shelter. Animal shelters, rescue groups, and foster organizations are completely overwhelmed with pets who need help from someone who can provide a home for them, often times when they have never known a loving relationship from a person. Plus, you will probably be able to find a dog that is full-grown (past the “puppy stage”) and possibly house-broken and trained at basic commands!
