Just a reminder to include your pets in the planning for your Fourth of July celebration! This is a very scary time of year for animal so be sure to educate yourself on how to keep them healthy and happy this holiday weekend. We now have several calming aids in stock including a homeopathic option made specifically for loud noises such as fireworks. You can also check out this link HERE to learn more safety tips from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Also a reminder that Kansas City and the surrounding areas are in a heat advisory, including and excessive heat warning for the following counties: Bates, Cass, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, Randolph and Saline. Please keep your pets hydrated and if at all possible bring them inside during the warmest parts of the day. If indoors is not an option, be sure to provide them plenty of water and sufficient shelter with shade. Also remember to NEVER leave your pet in the car this time of year as it is an easy way to cause heat stroke. The ASPCA also has some good hot weather tips for animals. We are also selling Frosty Paws dog ice cream- a great cooling reward for your pooch!
Coming soon: photos of our newly updated fish and reptile department!
