Into the New Year!

The beginning of 2012 has been good for us here at City Pets!  We had our first adoption event of the year and received one of the biggest fresh water fish shipments ever!

The start of the year brought with it the new schedule for our Adoption Events.  We will now be hosting adoption weekends on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month and hope to beat our record 52 adoptions in 2011 by reaching our goal of 100 animals in new homes by the end of 2012.  On January 7th and 8th we hosted Karma’s Rescue and sent home 14 pets!  A big thank you to our awesome customers and all the loving hands at Karma’s for making this happen.  Our next event with Karma’s will be February 4th and 5th.  Check out some of the great photos of happy adopters and their new family members!

The other exciting news to start 2012 off with is that we received one of the biggest freshwater fish orders in the history of City Pets.  Our freshwater department is stocked full of beautiful fish ready to help fill up your aquarium.  We have all sorts of interesting African and South American cichlids, stunning tetras and even have some great specials on a few types of live bearers!  We hope that you will come by and check them out!

Puppies goin’ home!

Oh boy! These pics are a little late in posting, but here we go!

Sweet little boy Ned Pepper got a home with some folks who own another City Pup! This couple bought a cute little girl Pomeranian from us a little over a year ago… Now she has a brand new baby brother! :) I’m sure the family is doing great! What nice folks!

And here’s one of our little girl Shih-tzus going home! (The other gal snuck out before I could even take a picture!) This is little Ginko with her new big brother, Maestro the bulldog. What a couple of sweeties! They are an unlikely pair, but seem very well-suited to each others’ personality. :) I’m so happy for them and I can’t wait for them both to visit!

Don’t forget! There’s just ONE puppy left here at the store! Our last little Shih-tzu boy, ready and waiting for his new home! The former puppy room is undergoing major renovations to become Kelly’s second grooming room and the transition is going great! Thanks to ALL of our customers for being a part of our growth and success!

Miss Godzilla gets a dye-job! Oh my!

WOW! Look at that pop!

Zilla’s mom had Kelly dye her pink as a surprise for her husband. :) I think he was probably sufficiently shocked! Zilla loved all the attention she got while she was so brightly colored. She probably didn’t even know she was pink. ^_^

If you need a fun surprise for your pals, a neon colored pup is a great way to do it! Call Kelly today to set up an appointment! (913) 709-1799

Rosco’s Tough Guy Makeover

Look at this cutie! Rosco’s owner brought him in for grooming and asked Kelly to do a cool mohawk on him! Rosco went from fuzzy-wuzzy powder puff…

to a trim, tough mohawked dude!

Don’t worry, though. Rosco still has his fun, silly personality. ^_^ He is such a cute pup!!

If your pet needs a new look, don’t hesitate to call Kelly and set up an appointment! You can either call the store number (816) 561-7387, or call Kelly on her cell phone and leave her a message (913) 709-1799! We hope to see you soon! :)

Nimbus is kinda blue…

Look at this funny kitty! Grooming a cat sounds like a scary enough idea as it is, but dying him, too!? That’s just crazy!

Here is Nimbus, the big white cloud of a kitty, getting a little blue sky put into his fluffy fur. :) Nimbus was pretty cool with the whole ordeal!

Silly kitty! Nimbus is a great cat for putting up with all sorts of silly things! The blue turned out pretty nice, don’t you think? Mr. Blue Sky, with one cat-head shaped cloud floating around! Don’t worry, though, the dye is non-toxic and Nimbus’ grooming habits are safe to continue as usual. :)

Make an appointment today with Kelly for your own grooming fun! (913) 709-1799!

Groomin’ up a storm!

Look at this! I walked back to the grooming room, and this is the sight that I found!

kelly and asta

Kelly was right in the middle of brushing out Asta the Malamute, and things were getting pretty hairy! :) Her appointment book, the phone, her bottles of shampoo, grooming tools, EVERYTHING was covered in hair, including Kelly herself (and of course, Asta!). Despite all of this, Asta did keep most of her hair. :)

Do you have a heavy-shedder that could use a special grooming treatment? Kelly has tools, techniques, shampoos and conditioners to control problem shedding! (My dog gets the full treatment every time!!) Call her today to schedule your appointment! (913) 709-1799!
