Puppies goin’ home!

Oh boy! These pics are a little late in posting, but here we go!

Sweet little boy Ned Pepper got a home with some folks who own another City Pup! This couple bought a cute little girl Pomeranian from us a little over a year ago… Now she has a brand new baby brother! :) I’m sure the family is doing great! What nice folks!

And here’s one of our little girl Shih-tzus going home! (The other gal snuck out before I could even take a picture!) This is little Ginko with her new big brother, Maestro the bulldog. What a couple of sweeties! They are an unlikely pair, but seem very well-suited to each others’ personality. :) I’m so happy for them and I can’t wait for them both to visit!

Don’t forget! There’s just ONE puppy left here at the store! Our last little Shih-tzu boy, ready and waiting for his new home! The former puppy room is undergoing major renovations to become Kelly’s second grooming room and the transition is going great! Thanks to ALL of our customers for being a part of our growth and success!

So Many Pups Find Homes!

Wow! It’s the time of year to get a puppy or two, it seems! We have sent home five puppies in two days!

First to go home was our little Cairn/Poodle mix. She was only here for a day or two! Her new owners had found a dog in their neighborhood, but the dog’s owners were found and they returned their new friend to it’s home. But our Cari-poo looks just like the dog they gave up and they had to have her!

Then, in the same day, some folks who had been eyeing our CUTE CUTE Shih-tzus stopped by to make the big decision! In a wonderful surprise, they chose BOTH! These ladies are neighbors and now these sister puppies never have to be too far apart! That makes me very happy!

And finally, our two lady Dachshunds went home together! Sweet gentle Ida, and silly Virginia will be together forever! Dachshunds are always better in twos! What a good-looking group!

There are still plenty of WONDERFUL puppies waiting for their new homes here at the store! Please stop by today and meet your best friend for a life-time!

Shih-tzus go home!

Wow! There is a run on Shih-tzus here at City Pets! Both of our little boy Shih-tzus have found homes recently! Check out these guys!

Look at that new family!! :) They lost their Shih-tzu and their boy missed his best friend. Shih-tzus are great pets for kids, and this little pup is going to be a great buddy. :)

What a cute pair! This little boy went home just tonight! His new mom was going to wait until Monday to pick up her new little baby, but she was back in ten minutes and said she just couldn’t wait to have him at home and play! I don’t blame her. I would not be able to delay my new best frienship for one moment!

These guys’ little sister is still here at the store waiting for her perfect home! Come visit her (and our other wonderful puppies!) today!!

Butters is not your average Shih-tzu!

And he does not get the average Shih-tzu hair cut, either! Butters is always getting something awesome done with his ‘do, and he is such a crazy, happy, silly dog, we are always thrilled to see him.

Today his owners had our groomer, Kelly, give him a sweet trim. She left his tail natural, boots on his back feet, a lion’s mane, and a long long beard! He looked totally sweet! Check him out!

What a guy! I love that Butters!

Does your dog need a funky ‘do, too? Kelly would be happy to oblige! Give her a call at (913) 709-1799, or call the store at (816) 561-7387. See ya!

Puppies Visit!

Yep! It’s time for some City Pups to stop by and say Hey!

First is Meagan, the beautiful gold Shih-tzu! Here she is on the day her Momma first took her home…

And here she is today! She is six months old and was just spayed a couple of weeks ago. Her Mom says she is spoiled and precious as she can be, and she recently figured out how to jump up on the bed! They found her snuggling under the covers just this morning. :) Adorable!

Oh man, I love that cute silly girl! ^_^

And here is a more recent pup we’ve sent home. This little guy is Blitzen (the second Sheltie-named-Blitzen that we have known)! He came by today and he was still super tiny, although his owner tells us he has doubled in size! Hard to believe! Plus, he seems to have a fabulous temperament and was very friendly to all of the people and dogs in the store! :) Great pup!

I am so happy to see any of my puppies from the past come walking through the store! We are so proud of our pups and we want them to be healthy and happy forever. We hope that you all feel the same way about your beloved pets, so feel free to give them a big hug and a smooch whenever you feel like it. :D

See you soon!

Shih-tzu Biz Markie goes home!

It’s about time this great lady went home! It’s a good thing, too, ’cause I was totally falling for this charming little Shih-tzu. Bizzy was a sweet little thing; playful when she needed to play, snuggly when we needed her to snuggle. She is not a complainer and she had such a good nature. I love little Bizzy!

Now she has a new home! Bizz’s gotta be having so much fun in her new place. She has a little girl to play with and everything! A puppy couldn’t ask for more! I can’t wait to hear how she’s doin’. :) I will miss Bizzy!

Puppies go home!!

My goodness, puppies have been movin’ out on me!

Raekwon the Shih-tzu snuck out before I could get a picture. He went to a good home with a young couple whose previous dog had been stolen. :( They were excited that Rae had already been micro-chipped for identification. Micro-chip identified dogs have a small piece of inert metal placed under their skin. This metal device is not active or electronic. It cannot be used to “track” a dog by satellite or by any other means. What it DOES do is provide an identification tag that is not removable, as a collar and traditional tag may be. Even if the dog is stolen, or breaks free from it’s collar, its micro-chip stays in place. When your pet is lost, all you have to do is alert the veterinarians and shelters in your area. If the lost dog is brought to a shelter, it will be automatically scanned and you will be alerted! If the people who have your micro-chipped dog take it to a vet who recognizes the dog from your description, it will be scanned and identified as your dog and returned to its rightful owner. Most veterinarians automatically scan every dog that comes to their clinic.

The majority of the puppies that we get have already been micro-chipped. The procedure at a veterinary clinic can cost anywhere from $25-100. Spay and Neuter: Kansas City offers low-cost micro-chips for dogs that are already neutered at their monthly MASH clinics. Check their link at the right for information on their next clinic date!

And here is our little darling Jamiroquai! Jami found a great family with a beautiful home to be spoiled to no end. :) His name is Maximus now, a big name for a little dog! He has always been a fearless, friendly little guy and I hope he keeps it up. I can’t wait for him to come visit!

Everyone needs a little dog. :)

And, our little lady Dachshund, River, found a great home for herself. Her new Mommy already stopped by and told us that she is such a smart girl and she is learning the rules so quickly! I should’ve known she would be so bright! River was always such an alert and attentive puppy. :) What a sweetie!

Don’t forget to check out our Available Puppies page! I have gotten behind on my puppy portraits, but they will be up soon, and just trust that they are as CUTE as can be! :) Plus, I’ve got lots of new babies arriving around the 20th or 21st! We love our puppies and we can’t wait for the new arrivals. Hope I see you in the store!
